La Parroquia is the parish church in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and the center of life in San Miguel. This image was taken on the first night of the Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration. The flags are stretched across the central square in front of the church. The Day of the Dead is a festive holiday in Mexico, honoring deceased relatives and friends.
